As a child Philip Lankford sat in a dark theater looking at the screen, Mahogany, the Diana Ross classic was showing, and a seed was planted. From that moment forward that little boy grew into a man whose life had to be surrounded by all thing’s beauty. Visual art, make-up, fashion or hair for which he is best known. Philip lives to create works of beauty, it is just that simple.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California considered by many to be the mecca of glamour he first demonstrated his artistic genius as a fourth grader. His teacher called his mother in to see the amazing piece of art her son had created and encouraged his abilities. 

Philip, like most artists marches to his own beat and it is one funky infectious beat. After attending art school, and beauty college, Philip settled into his life destined to become what he is known as today; a stellar hair stylist. He went beyond what was taught at school and smartly interned with diverse kinds of stylists. Philip’s passion is to continue to educate himself and acquire the ability to be better than the average stylist. It is because he continuously goes one step beyond that his imprint has been seen in magazines, award and hair shows. Philip takes the time to know his client before he ever touches a strand of their hair, he understands the need to sense who he is dealing with before performing his wizardry.

Philip Lankford is more than a hair stylist, for sure whoever sits in his chair leaves feeling so much better than when they arrived.
